Underwater photography, Virgen Gorda, British Virgin Islands

These photographs were made when I was between 14 and 17 years old, with a half-frame Rollei in a casing and later with a Nikonos I, 35mm lens and close-up kit. 1961-1971.

I loved skindiving in the BVI. My friends and buddies were Chris and Tina Roy from Guavaberry Spring Bay, a beautiful small family resort nestled among the huge boulders of Virgen Gorda. There I also met Harry Menger who at one time was considered to be the fifth best freediver in the world. I think his record was around 120 feet.
